It's summer, and the apple tree by Old Badger's house is full of red apples. Thud! An apple drops into the grass. “Old Badger can't climb. I'll pick them all!” says Pip, and he hugs the trunk. Rabbit gently touches his arm: “Wait. It's Old Badger's tree. Let's ask her first.” Old Badger has her own way to pick the high apples, and she asks the friends to gather the fallen ones. Robin spots, Rabbit hops, Pom rolls. Scratch, scratch, scoop! A gentle story about asking before helping.
